WHAT WE OFFER

Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological rehabilitation, also known as neurorehabilitation, is a type of physiotherapy that is designed to help individuals recover from injuries or disorders of the nervous system. The nervous system is composed of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves that control movement, sensation, and other functions of the body. Neurological conditions that may benefit from rehabilitation include:

  • Stroke: a condition caused by an interruption of blood flow to the brain, which can cause weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, problems with speech or vision, and other symptoms.
  • Traumatic brain injury: an injury to the brain caused by a blow or jolt to the head
  • Spinal cord injury: damage to the spinal cord that can cause paralysis and other problems
  • Multiple sclerosis: a disease that affects the central nervous system, causing problems with movement, sensation, and other functions
  • Parkinson’s disease: a degenerative disorder of the nervous system that affects movement
  • Cerebral palsy: a group of disorders that affect movement and coordination caused by brain damage before, during or after birth.

Rehabilitation for neurological conditions typically includes a combination of exercises, manual therapy, and other techniques to help patients improve strength, flexibility, range of motion, and function. The specific exercises and techniques used will vary depending on the patient’s individual condition, the stage of the condition and their overall physical condition. Roderiques Physiotherapy will work closely with the patient and other healthcare professionals to develop a customized rehabilitation program that is tailored to the patient’s specific needs and goals.
