WHAT WE OFFER

Pre-surgical Rehabilitation

Pre-surgical rehabilitation, also known as prehabilitation, is a type of physical therapy that is designed to prepare patients for upcoming orthopedic surgery.

The goal of pre-surgical rehabilitation is to improve the patient’s overall physical condition, which can help to reduce the risk of complications and improve the chances of a successful surgery and recovery. Pre-surgical rehabilitation typically includes a combination of exercises, manual therapy, and other techniques to help patients improve strength, flexibility, range of motion, and endurance.

The specific exercises and techniques used will vary depending on the patient’s individual condition, the type of surgery they are planning to have, and their overall physical condition.

For example, prior to a knee replacement, the program will focus on quadriceps and hamstrings strength, knee range of motion and balance. Prior to a spinal surgery, the program will focus on core stability, pain management and overall mobility.
